The rear camera? I will likely place it on the roof. I am really doing this to gain the reverse camera function without having a double din install, dash cam recording is just a bonus!

Got some M2 screws and could finally fit it up. Visors can got to vertical only as expected so I am going to buy some used ones from ebay tonight and cut/retrim them.

The only negative beyond my control is the cable connections to the Wolfbox as they slot into the top so I am going to print a small cap/cover to hide them.

Into the headlining I have beefed up 2 of the 3 bolts holding the mirror bracket so that I can lose the 3rd bolt and dremel out a channel for the cables to feed up thru the bracket. I think this is about the best I can do given what i started with.

Lovely job.
I can’t remember where I saw it but to hide the wiring somebody 3D prints a plate with a channel for the wires that sits under the 3 screws. WARNING.

Thanks for de detailed explanation. yes, the rear view camera. PO mounted one under the spare wheel on the tailgate. I likely would only use it when parking, so no need for me to see the tow hitch.
The 3d printed part looks brilliant, very well done. Would you mind sharing the 3d files? Then I could fire up my own printer if I get myself that rear view mirror... wife has been complaining recently how usefull it would be. Guess I'm cleared to spend the money then Very Happy

Let me get it all fully fitted and then I can help out.

What would people say is the best view from a rear camera? I don’t need to see the towbar so I guess if I just catch the edge of the spare? Has anyone any pictures of there rear camera view on screen to share before I fix it to the roof?? Andy

You can scroll up and down on the screen to adjust the angle, I mounted mine high up by modifying the rear washer with 2 cameras, one as a rear view and the other to look down to the tow bar (I currently don’t have a wheel on the back)

This image shows the screen in its central spot looking straight out but it does have about 10 degrees of angle up and down, the picture also shows the reversing camera on the main screen, beware that even up there they do get dirty. I used to have one below the spare wheel and that would become useless after a few miles in the winter.

I used Ram mounts to fix mine up and at some point I will directly wire those cables in through the back of the unit

Hope that helps

Another update on the most over engineered Wolfbox install Rolling with laughter Just got the power back on since Thursday night after the storm.

The modified leg so that the cables can pass thru it...

So all fitted and hard wired in now. Took a bit longer as I needed to add some extra wires from the new bluesea fuse box for this and the winch cut off which I plan to finish tomorrow.

Got to fit some leather this evening. Very pleased. Just some black nappa on the usual bits and perforated grab handle to match the adventure steering wheel. The sliding cubby lid is a hit, just needs to sit over night while its bonded on, rear cubby to do in the morning and then new seat belts. The only thing that didn't work out was the leather gaiter for the gear stick. I just don't have the space to gather all the leather so I may have an alloy surround machined with a simple slot for the travel and maybe add some letters for the positions, not sure Confused

Wee handy job this morning to fit the rear cubby. Its a standard cubby I modified, not as wide and floats over the sub. Then just a precision cut of a cup holder on the chop saw to fit it into place.

4x4 works have just got some nice warn accessories into stock as i have been looking for a bag for the remote and gloves. Went for the grab handle bag in the end on the rear door.
