I think a lot garage workers are just told to do what's on the sheet of paper. Sure they should point out any additional issues and see if the client is willing to pay for repairs, but if there is enough work and I am sure they prefer to do without the discussion about money.

If the car has a valid MOT... short of doing a new MOT it has not failed. I don't think a worn bushing justifies for a garage to call the police to not allow the car to go back on the road.[/code]

The car was in the dealers last week and is in for its Mot today. Just been told they are failing it due to this issue alone!
The dealer undertook a free safety check having finished the recall work and raised some issues regarding brakes and pads (advisory) but all else was apparently ok.
Not the service level I would expect from a main dealer but perhaps I am living in the past.

Hi there, here in France we're having issues with Stellantis Citroën C3 ans DS3 airbags that explode while driving. Some drivers seriously injured & a few dead. Thèse airbags explode over time if exposed to humid / hot climate.
So Stellantis sent a recall to hundreds of owners. In the recall they forbid to use the car ; excepton is made for the trip to your authorized reseller to have your airbag changed.
An avocat has been consulted who stated that you can use your car anyway, your car insurance is still valid and your MOT, too.
The recall and interdiction of use just limits the responsability of the manufacturer.

That being said, I suppose if you don't respect the recall and your front axle dies, Jaguar Land Rover won't be in the boat anymore and you will have to deal this all alone with your insurance / the victims
