Ok discobean. It was all part and parcel of the problems with my rejected D350 but that’s what the dealership said was a problem as the car wasn’t recognising it’s on a gradient. Rolling Eyes MY25 Defender 90 D350 X Dynamic HSE - REJECTED Sad

l have noticed the transmission switching to neutral (while still in D) when coming to a stop, or near stop. It doesn't always happen, but when it does there's a lurch as the transmission re-engages.

When you put your foot on the gas the RPM shoot up and then the transmission suddenly engages. It was worse when the vehicle was new, but can still happen when approaching a standstill and then trying to accelerate.

l use the "grass, gravel snow" setting for city driving which seems better, probably because the launch mode is more gentle.

The hill hold assist does seem to work okay though.

Just to clarify, this thread/issue has nothing to do with hill start assist or auto-hold. Please keep the thread on topic about the issue where the vehicle shifts to neutral when showing drive after stopping for approx. 10 seconds - then while car shifts into gear after taking the foot off the brake it lurches forward when accelerating from stop, whilst also rolling back if on a small hill while trying to accelerate

Seriously? Where does it mention that in the thread - genuinely curious. I read the first post and that suggested the Hold behaviour - which is pretty overbearing.

lf someone could supply a transmission remap to stop it from disengaging they'd make a fortune.
