Crank, no start
2013 Defender that cranks a couple of revolutions then power is cut to the starter, can not find any info on it, I am in the U.S. and it was purchased from another country, therefore no dealer will even look at it.

Is your vehicle a 2.4 or 2.2 ? I suspect a 2.2 but wanted confirmation.

Have you a code reader to check and post DTC’s ?

With more info it will help narrow down the cause.

2.2 and only code was P065B generator control circuit, I have taken it to be checked and the alternator is just fine and put it back in.

It could be an immobiliser issue. Do you have central locking and fobs ? Are they activating the central locking ? Has the red alarm light on IPAC been staying on ( not blinking) when you last started the vehicle. If so change the fob battery (CR2032) then re sync fob . Then see if vehicle will start. Noting fob should be on same key ring as key and only one fob in vehicle at any time.

As above, it’s easily done, especially if the fob isn’t synced, the red immobiliser dash light must be off and not blinking before starting.
If it does, you just press unlock once on the fob, before starting.

Other than that, it could be the diode pack on the Alternator, was that checked? $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

There are no key FOBs and I have had the alternator checked and diode is fine.

Could it be a crank or cam speed sensor? or something along the line?

Yes it could be one of the sensors. Both are required for starting but only crankshaft sensor needed when running.
