Hi Marco,

No I currently don’t have access to changing the ccf, I will search online to see if anyone in London does coding, but for now I’ll use it as a normal mirror. Thanks for the information.

Hi All,

Thank you Marco, you was correct just a simple coding and all done! Very Happy

I have a smart interior mirror if any one is interested as I bought the wrong one at first.

Here’s a picture of it if anyone is interested.

Thanks,

Hi, I’m picking up my 110 dynamic x se next week and one thing I will really miss from my 2019 hse evoque is the clear view rear view mirror. I’ve been reading for days on the retrofit and all seems ok ish, but how easy is it to get the old rear view mirror off? Might not have understood how it comes down so any advice would be great.

I’ve found the rear view mirror on eBay using the part numbers in this thread so thank you. Just need an antenna and cable which I will get as I find them.

Thanks for the reply. That looks easy enough as long as don’t break the plastic cover in step 1!

I’ve checked on eBay and you can get fakra female to female cables, is there a reason to get the male to female and then the repair cable to get it to female ended?

Hi, the Fakra connection cable must be female to female, be careful that the connectors must be of the universal type, therefore they accept male connectors of all colors.
it should be this, if I remember correctly....

Brilliant thanks. With that cable then, there should be no need for the genuine lr repair cable?

this is a non-original cable, however it is fine, the quality is not Land Rover…., with the repair cable you have the most quality length, I think other users have used this type of cable without any problems.

Thanks again. I’ll get the cable ordered. Just got an Ariel off eBay and brand new rear view mirror. Total cost £360.

Hi again. So I’ve now got all the bits I need and I’m picking up my defender tomorrow. Thinking about tackling this at the weekend. Are there any tips on getting the cable at the alpine window to the next light hole. Can’t quite make out how to get it behind the window?

Will it make sense once infront of me

Hi. So I’ve attempted this today. I got the standard mirror out easy enough and changed the antenna fairly easily. To test I ran the fakra cable from the antenna through car to mirror to check it all works before fiddly bit but I’m not seeing a picture on the mirror. Flicking the lever changes nothing.

Any ideas of what’s wrong? Radio / sat nav etc works fine. Aerial was from an evoque and the mirror was new off eBay. Wiring coming out for the mirror has 6 cables is this right?

Just read about coding above. Sounds same issue as I’m having.

Is anyone near Wakefield / Leeds able to code for a fee / beer tokens?

Not sure I will need a gap tool more than once unless I’m told they come in useful more than once?

hi, sorry it doesn't work....
unfortunately those who have the gap tool will have to pay extra to work on your vin frame.
If you come to Italy for Christmas we can do it Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
Otherwise you can contact Hunters Prestige, David, if you live near them, I think they can do the programming for you for a modest fee.

lol thanks for the offer not been to Italy for years. Would be cheaper to buy the tool though.

I’ll message a local independent jlr specialist tomorrow to see if they can assist. Failing that I’ll order the tool.

First though I’ll run cable inside headliner and put trim back on!

You might be surprised how much you end up using the IID tool so think it’s a good investment. If in time you find you don’t use it they hold there price on the second hand market very well.
I think you’d find buying the tool and doing what you need to do then selling it would be the cheaper option Question

Have a read through the activation pages to do with the Gap tool and see what else you fancy Question First Edition 90 in Pangea Green. (Gone)
P400 110 in Tasman Blue.
