It may well have been a poor, blocked or badly sealing fuel filter. Noting some aftermarket ones do not seal as well.
Alternatively it could have been contaminated fuel, blocked filter and damaged VCV.

My injectors are also way quieter. Wondering if I should empty that tank fully.
Is it fairly easy to fully drain or does the tank need to be removed? Making my Defender great again. (Or trying to at least xD)
