EWP is a through flow so for now i have left a stat and fitted the EWP in the top hose.
EWP has its own controller and will only come on once the stat has opened. Stat wise, some of the branded ones only opened 5mm at max opening. should be 11 or so. i now have a proper opening stat that open at the right temp plus the EWP fitted to increase circulation with stat open at low engine speeds. will let you know how it goes. No brake signal to the ECM that controls the alternator to let it know that it can initiate full charging? Normally the smart alternators try and refrain from charging the battery until it's fuel efficient to (such as under braking or coasting). Not quite sure why it recharges straight away, maybe that's just the way that the BMW bods have programmed it to ensure it recovers from starting the vehicle. Another top weekend away with some off roading mates inidnWales at the weekend. The m57 130 continues to impress and brings a big smile to my face. Effortless driving and even goes off road! More off road than some would venture within

This might be a daft question, regarding the M57 conversion, I think I have my head around most of it, however, where do you get the speedo feed from - on the TD5 it comes from the ECU I think, not sure where it comes from with the M57 conversion - where does yours come from?
I'm also going to be adding ABS to mine, I managed to procure a TD5 XS loom with heated seats, electric windows and other useful goodies. With it came the ABS and AS10 so I can add central locking as well. Joel 110 DCPU TD5 02 130 DCPU TD5 04 |

It's all part of the control box that links engine loom to puma ecu harness.
What ever you do don't drill any holes or join anything together with a nut and bolt! Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |
