2001 TD5 with 15p engine?
Hi all,

I’ve just replaced my fuel pressure regulator and noticed I had the 15p version, although my landy is a 2001 on a Y plate, doesn’t have the updated dash etc so I was under the impression mine should be a 10p engine, did the 15p engine ever get put in my year? I thought it was crossover at a 51 plate?

So looks like I’ve had a 15p engine or head put on mine at some point in its life? Any other way to check?

Thanks Jim.

It's possible as Y reg ran til 31 Aug 2001 and the first pre-producton 2002 models came out in Feb 2001, yet there's only 15 of them.

Best to check the actual engine number? If its 15P0xxxxA then it's a genuine early one. LR Workshop

Hi mate, you mean this number? So it’s definitely a 15p engine? But doesn’t mean it’s factory?

I have seen them in pre “new dash” with 15P sometimes even with the cylindrical fuel cooler.

Just realised yours is the red 90 from the other thread that you bought recently.

Your photo is definitely 15P, but i've looked up your vehicle and the engine number recorded with the DVLA is a 10P, so I suspect the engine has been changed..... but what's interesting is that engine is a very early 15P. If an engine with that number was in a 2002MY vehicle it would have been built around the end of August 2001 (the first 1000 or so vehicles).

Most likely its had an early 15P Td5 engine put in it from another Defender, potentially during the galv chassis rebuild? LR Workshop

What's the engine number shown on your V5C?
