The most recent white for this sort of thing is Alpine white, L456.

As an aside, the colour representations on that page look far too yellow to my eyes. In reality, Alpine is properly white, for example. Darren

Couldn’t find an answer here so sorry if its been mentioned but

What was the reason that LR decided to offer vehicles originally with the white roof. There must have been something else apart from style.

Was it that it was easy to paint the smaller panels that makeup the rear options separately rather than assembling and then painting and them bolt them together with only one option for the roof?

Or something else?

I think it was just one of those details carried over from the Series vehicles. In those days, the default colour for hard tops and SW roofs was limestone, which may have just stemmed from keeping the paint process simple. That continued, albeit in white, to the 90/110 and subsequently Defender models. It was only when LR started to smarten up the range with things like the Freestyle options pack that body coloured roofs became a thing. Darren

I thought it was originally from safari roofs that were painted white to reflect the heat of the sun to reduce internal temps. Originally it was just the safari roof panel that was painted white, the main roof panel remained body colour. That then developed into painting roof white colour too and then into vehicles without a safari roof having their roof panels painted white.

it looks epic your 110 with white roof. What colour is it?

I have the Santorini Black 110 and thinking to paint the roof white. Not sure if it will work with the metallic black?

I think this too. It has a noticeable effect on interior temperatures.

Hi all

New member here, having recently purchased this handsome little 90.

The roof is suffering from some lacquer peel and the sunroof seals are borked, so I am taking the opportunity to get the roof painted.

I want to get it done in white but there are various shades. I am erring towards alpine white, I like the slightly warmer tone and I don't want it to look like I've just been to B&Q and bought a tin of landlord special pure brilliant white paint. Does anyone have an example of a cairns blue Defender with an alpine white roof? Google image search hasn't turned up much..!

Thanks

Mine is Keswick Green, originally with white roof and Boost alloys
I wanted to go black but was scared to commit so had the roof wrapped gloss black
Now has Twisted black wheels too

Wrapping turns out to be no cheaper but at least the next owner can revert back to a white roof very easily
