yer mine looked like it was coming through the bulkhead at first but figured it must have run down along the bulkhead and dripping from behind the dash Wink

Got the T shirt for this one Thumbs Up

Dealer replaced the rubber seal between the windscreen frame and bulkhead - 60% fixed - they also fixed the rust on the inner bulkhead that this leak had caused Thumbs Up

I sealed the windscreen after I had a cracked screen replaced and saw the amount of water sitting in the lower windscreen channel (it had not been raining for days if not weeks) - 90% fixed.

Hopefully final fix done on Wednesday. I couldn't work out why I was still getting puddles Embarassed on the front mats when the vehicle was parked and it had been raining.

By pure chance on Wednesday I had the drivers door open whilst doing another job and I noticed a pool of water appearing on the mat. The front door seals have an outer and inner circular section. The door inner section on the drivers side finished about 1/4" above the floor and water was running out of the seal onto the mat. Dum Dum to the rescue and after heavy rain Thursday no more puddles Thumbs Up

Two new front door seals are on the shopping list, I should get them fitted under warranty but will do the job myself as at least I know it will be done properly.

Bob

Yes!!!

Taken from same thread and 'own experience' of this problem...

I have had a period where I have unfortunately had to have two windscreens replaced within a short amount of time. Initially in severe downpours I too had water dripping from under the dashboard on the passenger side footwell. On the initial windscreen removal I was shocked to see exactly how much water and grime was sat in the windscreen channel on the outside of the vehicle. (With seal removed). The company that was fitting the replacement screen said it was a known corrosion hotspot on Defenders and that the windscreen and seal should be sealed to prevent both water ingress and corrosion particularily along the lower edge. No problems since!

What K9F said ^^^^ Thumbs Up

Get the windscreen sealed first - everything looks like it is a tight fit but water gets behind the screen onto the bulkhead and down into a channel that runs under the dash and finishes above the pedals on the drivers side and about in the centre of the passenger footwell.

Either get a tube of black windscreen sealer (don't use silicon) and do it yourself or go to a windscreen company and get them to do it - should not cost a lot.

Bob's right too...

From same thread link on previous post.... Thumbs Up

Fekete had a long, long ongoing issue with this which is now hopefully sorted but it took alot of cajoling to get the dealers to look in the right direction which was the same as mine a leaking windscreen seal due to the build up of crud in the exterior gutter! To rectify it the windscreen has to be removed and there is a danger of damaging it on removal, hence the reluctance to investigate this until every other avenue has been exhausted!
