Help needed, stuck in Mongolia as a solo overlander
Hi all,

I just found out that I m leaking engine oil little by little, as I m crossing from Inner Mongolia to Mongolia, driving all the way to Europe. I want to have a piece of mind wherever possible.
I have a local garage took a look and they found that maybe this part I don’t know what it calls, it’s a hose to cool the oil for the turbo? Apparently the metal plate is worn and oil are leaking out from there to the floor, I believed this is the part I need and I m just wondering if anyone know any shop able to do express shipping to Mongolia that would be extremely helpful, thanks a lot
Cy

I cannot see what is in pic #2, but by the shape looks like the gasket from the oil return from the turbocharger.
Try to find a Ford dealer and ask for P/N 1331076. However, from the workshop manual it does not look like metallic. Puma 110" SW

It must be nice to make a trip al the way from China to Europe with so little mechanical experience.. I would be worried sick about everything, mostly as it turns out about nothing.

Indeed, I have zero mechanica knowledge , did a crash course from a friend on changing oil, that’s about it. But it ain’t stopping me it definitely out of my comfort zone 1000%

it is indeed the turbo oil return line, it looks to be in decent condition, i would use some gasket sealer with it and for peace of mind replace the gasket when convenient.

There are lots of suppliers out there that could help, Foundry 4X4, Turner engineering, Maltings, LRparts, Rimmer brothers, island 4x4 etc.

Foundry would be my first choice they are extreamly helpful.

I would cut a new gasket from compressed non asbestos gasket. These are resistant to 450dC, and should last long enough. Just a sharp knive and some commonly available gasket material all that is needed.

As I understand that is the oil drain connection on the turbo. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Leaking a little bit of oil, or a lot of oil. A little weep wouldn’t bother me whilst touring. Just something to keep an eye on. It’s the drain, not the supply.
