That gets my interest! I like it where the proviso states that they received no money from INEOS but were given the vehicles as long term test beds to do as they please. INEOS could give me one for a long term test and I would not ask for money to drive it!
Refreshing for them to be given a free hand to do as they please. Most manufacturers would not do this. Despite the automatic gearbox and high road tax it is growing on me! There is a couple of things about the wife that are not perfect but I have learnt to live with those...so why not the GRENADIER 
I remember reading in an early LRO magazine about a British diplomat and his wife finishing up work in somewhere like Pakistan and they opted to drive back to Britain in a 2.25 naturally aspirated diesel 90. All of their goods were sent back by container. The only thing he would change would be having a 2.5 turbo instead of the 2.25n/a diesel. Does that comply with hmrc vat reclaim rules?
Not sure about the rear overhang length? Does look excessive. |

The overhang is dictated by physics based on how long a bed length you want. The wheelbase and rest of the bodywork obviously have an impact here too. But without major changes a long overhang makes sense. Even more so if you consider the markets this model is likely targeting, ie NOT the U.K. I’d guess the N. American market to compete against the Jeep Gladiator and Oz where you can get a chassis cab/flat bed to compete with other utes and the Toyota 70 Series.

Most of these double cabs have a big overhang at the back if you look at them. The Mitsi L200 was a particular stand out and much worse that the Grenadier in that regard. It makes them all look a bit odd. I personally think the reason they do it is to try to keep the turning circle acceptable, especially as the wheelbase is extended over the station wagon already, and also to reduce the extra weight of any payload on the front axle which is already dealing with most of the drivetrain and it's share of passengers and roof load. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

saw one in the flesh on the A1 yesterday.
didn't look that different in size to all the modern Pick ups. going a bit fast in the opposite direction to get a good look. If I was after a pick up and had the money Id have a AT35 Hilux. No not really, 130 is still the King. |

Thank you for posting that photo ^^ it actually makes the Quartermaster look quite appealing!
The pre-2016 Defender 130 was quite good looking too. |

I don't see the quartermaster as any uglier or any prettier than any other pick up.
It's got the same Defender style to it that the grenadier has but the pickup form... I guess I don't find the Ineos AS good looking as the defender, but I wouldn't say the quartermaster is uglier than the grenadier..
