Thanks.
So I assume that is only UK registrations, not actual sales or numbers built? |

At that rate it’s 90 vehicles this year in the Uk !!!! At best that’s £7m worth of sales. I’m aware the UK is not seen as the main market for the Grenadier . However that number is very very low and if it’s at a similar scale in the prime markets for the Grenadier then they will struggle to survive.

And Land Rover said that the "old" Defender was not a viable proposition at about 17,000( can be corrected here) vehicles sales per year. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Viable is such a subjective and contentious word though... if low volume is not viable you wouldn't have companies like Caterham or Lotus either.
I have no idea how well or badly the Grenadier is selling, nor what Ineos' realistic targets are for the vehicle. Ultimately it only needs to be profitable to be viable, world domination and record sales are not a requirement for this. |

I think it is well documented that JLR had other agendas.... viability is also a contentious word. All you have to do is look at how many Wranglers and Bronco's are sold in the USA each year. Circa 150,000 - 200,000 for each model. Toyota also sell a lot of 4x4's. Clearly there is a market for such vehicles. As so many car makers sell and make 4x4's successfully. |
