Tinting double cab windows
Has anyone managed to successfully tint a truck cab? The flat glass was relatively easy but I’m beginning to think the corner glass is impossible. I’ve even resorted to removing the glass to try to do it on the garage bench!
I’ve tried dry shrinking it, but it just lifts on application.

Any advice would be much appreciated

When I had my DC I had a professional place do it for me. They did remove the glass to do it.

But the chap said it was horrible and if it didn’t work , he would recommend just painting the glass black on the inside, which could always be scraped off with a blade later if required.

That’s what I was afraid of. If a pro can’t manage it then I’m stuffed!

Did they turn out ok though? 2002 110 td5

In the past you used to be able to get a spray tint for rear lights.

Might be worth seeing if it works on glass..

Found this on Amazon and can be used on glass

E-TECH ELS150-SMOKE Lens Tint Spray - 150ml https://amzn.eu/d/01tmHvIj

I guess you keep over spraying it to get the level of tint you need.

I had another go tonight and it was alot better. I am learning to “read” The film a little bit more now. I’ll just keep going until I get it perfect (ish).
If I do get it right I’ll post some pictures. If I don’t, I’ll keep quiet 🤫 2002 110 td5

I had mine done about 6/7 years ago
The curved cab windows are a pain with normal film, my guy used a perforated film which gives much more “flexibility” for the shape of the glass
I don’t have any close up pictures, but it’s unspottable from a couple of feet away fitted

I’ve lost enough time to this already so I opted to do it in two halves.

Thanks for all the advice. If I can’t live with the line I’ll have a look at the perforated film 2002 110 td5

Use a sharpie marker pen along the joint. It will hide it, and can be removed later if required Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
