What is quickly? I've had the same feeling for more than half a year. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

They all do that - it's inherent in the design - but most people just get used to it. Darren

Just my luck that I'am such a sensitive guy......

In other words I haven't gotten used to it yet. Let's give it another half year and worst case I just remove it. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

Hi
I read conflicting info here, or perhaps the conflicting info is not about the lof spring but the mc?
Would the 2.2 Puma benefit from the lof spring? The one already fitted looks similar so I’m guessing the lof is a copy, but does it’s tension differ such that an improvement would be noticed?
I guess in short, are people fitting it to the 2.2 Puma?
Sorry to drag up such a debated subject again.

I think it is a case of giving it a bit of time and getting used to the difference, for me it has worked and my aching left knee is now complaining much less since I fitted mine DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Don't suppose any body wants to fit mine for me for a case of beers !! Been trying to fit it for the last Hour and a half and failed using both methods! What a ball ache of a job ..... the U shaped bush snapped in the end so had to give up.... fitted the old one back for now......

The LOF spring is a stronger version of the Land Rover genuine spring so can be fitted to all models from 300tdi onwards

Finally got round to fitting my pedal spring yesterday lunch time, having watched Luke's fitting video, and convinced it would be done in double quick time, and still time left for a sandwich.

Original spring came straight out, U bush crumbled, tools assembled and found an L leg from my wife's gridwall system the perfect length for holding the clutch.

40 mins later I admitted defeat, rang my brother to ask if he could bring some needle nose mole grips home from work to drop in on his way past, and went and made a consolation sandwich, and further reading of this thread.

Stumbled across Roger's very informative post with pictures and decided cable ties was the answer, but with out the immediate access to a vice/quick clamp jury rigged a bar and 3 screw drivers to compress the spring to get zip ties in place. That eventually had to wait until my brothers arrival, where we then fought the spring for another 20 mins before giving up as the zip ties weren't up to the task.

My brother then went back to the brute force method, and 25 mins later it finally went in.

The difference is immediate, and when I eventually convince my wife to give driving the Defender another go, she'll find the clutch is much lighter. I'd even go to say that the old Fiesta she used to drive has a heavier clutch.

Wish I'd done it months/years ago (and paid someone else to do it) 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

I tried for hours, and in the end just got a local garage to sort it.
No regrets

I have the PowerSpec Master from LOF and found it didnt work with the spring as well - have the spring in the cubby box just incase of issues but running mine without a spring currently and is great.

just incase anyone buys the power+spring kit.
