L663 OBD Scanner Potential Issues

Hello,

I'm not sure if this has been covered before.

Has anyone seen a battery warning message display because of the OBD reader they have been using?

Someone told me using the wrong scanner can cause this and require a software update to fix?

Interesting to hear from anyone that has had an issue.

l've had a "low battery" warning when using the GAP tool, apparently the voltage had dropped under 12v

But nothing happened apart from the fact that it then wouldn't do any changes.

I've done quite a lot of looking on Google and can't find any mention of it.

Unless the guy was using a cheap bluetooth OBD reader which caused issues.

My car scanner OBD reader is fine left plugged in until I connect to it whilst the car is dormant. Then it drains the battery within a few hours. If I don’t connect to it until the engine is running it seems fine. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

l don't think you are supposed to leave it plugged in to the vehicle

Does state on the box that you can do that, but I haven’t since it flattened my battery! 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

It’s the socket down by your knee that’s used for diagnostics. On Board Diagnostics. A plug in unit connects to your phone by Bluetooth and gives all kinds of diagnostic information. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black
