Defender td5 play in turbo? Bad sensors?
Hi, my defender td5 2002 90 struggles on acceleration and its hard to get it above 65
Just trying to figure out why at first the E pin on the boost waste gate was misidentified so i thought it could be that but that hasn’t changed anything so iv removed the pipe and this is how much play is in the turbo?

https://youtube.com/shorts/RiOVoXMCk6Q?si=RBrYZYcsiU8VukQ3

Is this normal and would this cause a lack in power when accelerating?
The problem of the lack in power started after I had my clutch and flywheel changed, at first i thought it was the crank shaft position sensor+ cables as I could see a bit of damage on them, so i fitted a new sensor and cable loom but this didn’t change anything, any ideas of anything other sensors that could have gotten damaged? Thank you

That turbo has more play than I would like, but I don’t think that is the lack of power you are getting. It may cause smoke.
Can you see any damage to the fins of the turbo?
Assume it spins freely.

Obvious but I will say it.
You aren’t stuck in low on the trans box are you?

I can hear it go from high neutral and low and low feels like it’s in low and high in high if that makes any sense
