Gasket isn't sided if I remember right I've seen a few that have worked loose 110 Td5 Ex Utilities slowly converting into a pop top camper one day

No the metal gaskets are not sided but they are easily deformed and then leak. I once made the mistake of not ordering this gasket when removing the sump. In the emergency of getting it all back together again I opted for a little smear of gasket sealer on each side of the old metal gasket. Refitted and torqued up. All good. It hasn't leaked in 5 years or so.
But when it comes to those metal pressed gaskets you should torque up each of the bolts a little at a time. Do not torque down one then the other as this will deform the metal gasket. As an interim fix use a little gasket sealer as it will stop the drip until you have a new gasket. |

It is a quick job to pop it off again and smear some sealer on it. If you have bought a new gasket (suspect you have) then you can go belts and braces and add a smear of sealer to the new gasket before fitting.
