I had a set with 255/85 BFG KM2s, which I sold when I bought my Blindos. I have a set with 7.50 Michelin XZLs which I keep for snowy and icy conditions, since the XZL is rather better than the KM3 in these conditions and I can fit tyre chains without ripping bits of bodywork off the vehicle.
255s with chains won't fit without some radical adjustments. |

Just fitted a set of wolfs with 235/85/16 BFG ATs. Super pleased! They suit the USW perfectly.

Thinking about getting Wolf rims too because .. honestly look at this thread. What's not to like about them?
One question remains: lots of aftermarket options available. Do they all come marked with all the numbers and "ANR 4583" and stuff like genuine LR wolf rims? Mainly asking due to legal / MOT reasons here in Switzerland... |

How good are the XZLs in the snow thinking of sticking my original ones back on to run them down |

Hi, my black defender 90 has 285 knobbly mud tyres (from purchase btw - they look v good) on sawtooths and I think I need something quieter for the road (especially as my TD5 doesn’t go off road at all full stop!) and really like the look of wolf steels. But I’m unsure about colour of wolfs (well wolf style copies from 4x4 tyres) and tyre choice…. So here goes: Do white wolfs look good with black 90 with black roof or should I play safe with black wolfs? Can anyone send me a picture of white wolfs on all black 90?
Tyres: Most of the pictures of wolfs are shod with mud tyres. How did they look with 235/85/16 AT tyres such as Michelin latitude cross or contact cross contacts? Is there an aggressive looking AT tyre I should consider? Thanks very much for any advice! |

*by that last bit I meant so they compliment the wolf steels like the MT tyres do.

Do not know if this would help. I only put the spare.

Thanks very much Dinnu. That look great with the Goodyear MTs. If there is a side view that would be great

Only mounted that spare from my other 90 as was due to replacing the tyres on this Defender.
The side view is the most boring but yet most classic look with Boosts and Contis combo. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |
