Removing spare wheel and fitting delete panel
Has anyone removed their spare wheel and fitted the delete panels you can buy.

Just wondered what it looked like. I find the spare wheel a bit of a pain when opening the tailgate in car parks etc and it makes the tailgate pretty heavy

Watching.... I actually think it will look ok! I need to use a bike rack on my tow bar regularly and it would certainly help with that!

I’ve done it and it looks fine
I know it may not be to everyone’s taste but has many benefits for me.

1, I can fit my bike carrier on
2. I can see out of the rear window better
3. The tailgate is so much lighter to open and close
4. Vehicle isn’t as long / more space behind when backed into a space etc
5. Nobody can pinch the spare wheel!!!

Has anyone who has removed the spare wheel and either used the inserts or filled the tail gate informed the insurance? I cant seem to find the answer
Also has anyone tried to part ex without the wheel as i wasn't sure if it would take value off the car as I was looking to completely fill the tail gate in with a company near me

I might be missing something here, but what happens if you have a puncture while you’re out and about? Do you keep the spare in the back or just chance it?

Tyre repair kit, but not in all circumstances can you use it.
For example if you have a tyre cut, then that can be repaired. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Land Rover assist said it didn’t matter. They would recover you home and fit spare wheel or take you to a local garage. They said several defenders have no spare wheel anyway as they had been stolen so it’s better than that. MY23 D250 Defender 110 X-Dynamic SE, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar
