I've seen a few proper minis, but you're right, gone are the days when they were just a small car owned by someone who wanted a small car - i.e. generic run about. The few I've seen look very purposely owned. I haven't seen a reliant in a long time, maybe 1-2 over the last 5 years. A friend of mine owns a 3 wheeler called a Pembleton. I don't see many of my generations first cars - 3rd generation fiestas, 1st generation clios. An acquaintance even had a Rover Metro ![]() ![]() Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@YetitheDefender Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/yetithedefender/ |

To me what this shows is how quickly cars phase out and THUS how pointless the whole LEZ policy is. Introduce stricter emission rules and just let it run its cause. Those few cars that stick around are only a small percentage, typically driven not that much by people that can't really afford the latest and greatest. Instead we pursue oppressive Nazi policies with fines, fees and penalties which is only alienating the common man from the countries leadership.
If they really want to address the environmental issues in the West they need to become a lot less woke and a lot more pragmatic. |

Agree 100% and I fail to see the new abominations of models of cars out there as being “upgrade” as the progressives try to spin as being so called positives.
I’ve always quite liked the Ford Capri, specifically the front end, but I do like that kind of look on a car similar ish to the old Skool Mustang. I like the new mustang too, so long as it doesn’t have a green plate on it… And has an engine Motor in it. The Opel Manta is also interesting. Overall I do like the Ford heritage, I’d say the Transit and Ranger are the only two models they do id have any interest in though. The latest Ranger is a definite upgrade upon the last, and the Transit has long term heritage. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I know where 2- 3 wheelers are parked next to each other, both blue and the more modern ones, i don't think they are used on the roads. I did see an older 3 wheeler pulling out of a junction, it was black with a " Starsky n Hutch " strip on it in white
![]() We did have a Corsa ( E ) for a while as the wife's daily but after my eldest daughter got a Fiesta MK8, then my youngest daughter decided to get a MK8 fiesta, so we decided after test driving there's we got a MK8 as well, so 3 Fiesta's now in the family ![]() Keeper. Clayton. |

I think most of our generation cars have practically bit the dust 10 years ago easy, Metro, mk1 clio, mk3 fiesta and the mk4, 1st gen corsas, all practically died out in the mid 2000s. When i was building my vvc metro back in 2008, i was finding some right bother getting bits for it. Due to the fact most of the metros were binned off about 4 years before hand, I had a pick of metros back in 2003 in scrap yards. A lass i went to school with max powered her mk1 clio, ![]() Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Yeh definitely Devon and Cornwall there are still a lot of the old Peugeots around.
I remember all of us youngsters comparing insurance for our 1 - 1.2l cars trying to find that sweetspot between bhp and insurance price, I suppose taking into some consideration the increase in mortality.... then one of our friends was on his Dads farms fleet insurance and he rocks up with a Peugeot 306 GTI 6 ![]() Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@YetitheDefender Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/yetithedefender/ |

Whilst following a diversion somewhere near High Wycombe yesterday I came across a 2CV that looked to be in good condition going the other way. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Ah yes, no headrest. Those were the days you actually had whiplash but then it was just neckache. Now you have whiplash if someone slams the door too hard. |

Actually I an think of a couple cars you just don't see, but perhaps for good reason....
VW Jetta - My Grandad had one as his last car - before he hung up his licence. Daewoos of all types... As above, probably for good reason, they were hardly iconic and 99% of the time you'd have probably never recalled seeing one. Me and my dad were over our local ability supplies today there, to get a few bits and pieces, We have a couple of projects and a rework to do. Anyway this fella said alright to me, we recognized each other. Could i hell remember where from, anyway after been served from a tasty red head. Me and my dad walked out, and i saw a white Citroen BX 16v on a H plate. Turned out the fella who said aright to me, was the owner of it
