Sunroof rattle
Hi all, I have an intermittant issue with the sunroof (or the fixed glass behind the sun roof) rattling quite loudly and on applying some pressure it lifts up slightly. Has anyone else had this and any advice on why this would be intermittant rather than constantly there?

I actually have this EXACT same issue right now.
It seems to be worse in dryer and colder temperatures, and if I put pressure on the back fixed sunroof glass the noise goes away.

It's currently at the dealer, but so far I've been given the "normal noise from body flex" excuse..
Which is completely incorrect because the loaner Defender with the same pano roof hasn't made the noise in over a week we've had it.

I've seen several options for tightening the anchor bolts down, or applying grease/lubricant to that area.

I'll update you if we actually get any "real fix" from the dealer. 24MY Defender 110 P400 X-Dynamic SE, Pangea Green.

Thanks Sullivan1337, good to know someone else has the same issue, although sorry you have the problem at all. Mine has gone into the dealership for an ongoing issue today and I've asked them to look at it as well. Let's see what the 'experts' say.....I'm sure they'll go with what you've experienced in terms of "normal noise from body flex" but I can't accept that from them.....I've never had fixed glass coming loose when the temp drops in other cars!

Hi Sullivan1337, I heard back from the dealership and they've resolved the fixed pano glass rattle by re-sealing it (per JLR guidance). I don't have it back yet as they're having to raise a TA on another fault, but I'll let you know if that's fully sorted it when I do.

Hi jimjamken,
Did you get your car back and did the fix solve the actual issue?
I have similar panoroof squeak noises... My dealer keeps lubricating the rubbers but only helps partially on the short-term.

Hi Manuto, I haven't had it back from the dealership yet as they're trying to resolve a fault with the alarm being triggered when it's on timed charge (p400e)....they've got a TA raised with Land Rover centrally to try and resolve it....third chance now! I'll let you know when I get it back.....

I just got back the car yesterday, and can confirm that the noise is 99% gone!

And here are 2 videos I sent the dealer when I was able to capture the noise (2nd video is the best one I was able to capture):

They had to drop the headliner and tighten the "anchor bolts" (part numbers LR137048, LR137043, and LR132294) for the sunroof frame.

Thank you for the update!
I am glad that it’s fixed… even at 99%.
