Had no issues with mine.
Spares supply has improved so you may be okay. At least you got a courtesy vehicle straight away, l had to wait two months for the hose recall because l needed a courtesy vehicle. Yours won't need the hose recall, that was on the 2022 |

It stands for belt-integrated starter-generator, which is a device at the heart of mild-hybrid systems, which in turn are synonymous with modern 48V electrical systems.
In short, and alternator substitute rated at 48v instead of 12V . |

Audi has been experiencing failure of their belt starter generator (BSG) in vehicles equipped with their 48V mild hybrid system. No warning before failure, just red lights and it’s done. Affects the A6, A8, Q7, Q8, RSQ8.
I just sold my Q8. Mine hadn’t failed yet but at least one person on the Q8 forum experienced a second failure after replacement. Audi extended the warrant to 7 years unlimited miles but still has no fix. I didn’t take it on long trips to avoid being stranded. Replaced it with a 2024 Defender 110 SE with the P500 V8. No 48V system. Hope this is a one off failure for Defenders. Mercedes uses a similar system with an ISG, I haven’t heard of issues with their system. When the first Audi failures started, back orders where 3-4 moths, now 2-3 weeks. |

Reject it and swap it for a proper 6 or 8 cylinder motor Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.
