Hi,
As per my prior post, have a look at this https://www.technozen-electronics.co.uk/la...-services/. Scroll down to near the bottom of the page. Unfortunately you will see that it states that your unit YWC500660 does NOT support central door locking. However they will upgrade the unit for £110. Noting they used to also sell the kit on a well known auction site to do it yourself if you are able and want to save some money. Will need to check if they still do. Update , here it is from technozen [url]https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163640330244[url]. £8.99 However, if you DIY fit (solder to motherboard) the relay and varistor you will likely need a Nanocom to enable the central locking features, if a member is nearby with one they can help, it’s not hard to do. Regarding removing the 10AS unit. You don’t remove any dash screws, just remove driver footwell speaker, remove the two screws holding the 10AS to the bulkhead, one on left, one on right. Then disconnect the two wiring connectors and remove. Note if you do send off to be upgraded you won’t be able to start vehicle until the unit is refitted. Ps as yours is an XS spec and you have the wiring and actuators in place , I suspect the original unit was replaced with a non CDL enabled one at some point. If you don’t have access to the correct diagnostic tools, such as a Nanocom, then £45 is a good price if they do the hardware install and software configuration.
Ps . Several members have used them, all with good reports on the service they have received. |

Hi Ian... one last question (before I disconnect) - should I disconnect the car battery first?

Bienvenue!
Pas de panique. C'est l'antenne de la télécommande, elle ne se connecte à rien. Do not panic, it is the remote aerial. It does not connect to anything. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

I finally got round to upgrading the 10AS box and everything works perfectly now... a couple of pointers: 1) 10AS Box Removal: it is tricky (its designed to be difficult) - to get the left screw out I ended up removing the dash instrument module and then the plastic trim surrounding the ignition - I was then able to get to the left screw. The RHS can be removed using a stubby screwdriver through the speaker hole (then whole thing then comes out through the speaker hole). 2) I disconnected the main car battery first (under the passenger seat) 3) Highly recommend Paul @ Technozon Electronics - I posted the box monday and it was back by Thurs - he also ensured both fobs were synced. Thanks to everyone who helped me diagnose the issue - great forum.... |

fun fact: I just got hold of a workshop manual for my little Citroen C3 MY 2020 and discovered is has four (4) full-fledged antennas for the remote - under the radio, under the handbrake lever (?!), inside the boot and the lid C'mon that little frenchie is just under 4m short - a 20cm length of wire surely would have been enough, wouldn't it? |
