I've done Norway and all the way to Nordkapp and it is a great trip.
France > Belgium > Netherlands > Germany > Denmark > Sweden and then Norway Route back took in Finland and more of Sweden, then into the same route as up. A super trip and I'd recommend to anyone. Ended up doing over 6,000 miles with a few detours, etc, but enjoyed all of it. |

Sounds exactly like the trip we’re thinking of!
What time off year would be best for it and how long did it take you? 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech Instagram @the110camper |

I did it in May, which meant there was still snow on the ground once you got into the Arctic Circle but nothing that caused issues for driving (in other words, roads were clear but still snow on the ground in places).
We were lucky and had a lot of good weather, with few rainy days. Took a lot of scenic routes and back roads, which means that you cover less distance than motorways but the views are worth it. Did it in under three weeks which did mean there were a few long days but it is still up there with my favourite drives I've done. You could do it in two weeks and anything over gives you more time to divert and take in some of the sights along the way. Norway in particular has roads where you go around a bend and think 'that is the best view ever!' only to drive a mile and find yourself saying the same thing over and over. The Atlantic Ocean Road is a must drive; as is the Lærdal Tunnel. |
