It occurred to me last week that it is a very long time indeed since I last saw a SAAB 99 on the road. I suppose there must be some still.

A bodywork place i used to go to, did some saab repairs. The owner had to get a donor car for parts, due to how hard they were to find, Last time i was there, the bodywork place was reshelling a rotten Turbo. He was welding in the turbo bulk head, so basically building a ringer The lad said the owners paying for this, and the turbos shell is far too gone to repair. Citroen 2CV. It is what I first drove after passing my test as it was my mums car at the time. Woefully under powered, horizontal gear stick coming straight out of the dash but great fun with front vents like an older defender / series, roll back roof and seats you could take out and use for a picnic etc.

That is really very nice. I've always wanted a Mk2 in Oak Green. Something timeless about red and green, both really suit the car. |

Three cars I seem to remember seeing LOADS of, and they disappeared almost immediately! Made me think the build quality must have been so bad they were scrapped at the first MOT
The Bluebird! There were loads on the road, and three years later...none! Click image to enlarge The Renault Fuego - very "trendy" very briefly! Click image to enlarge Fiat X19 Click image to enlarge One of my (female) friends lost her virginity in a X19 back in the day - they must have been eager (and small!) Did any survive? They all seemed to vanish from our streets so quickly! Maybe junk!!! Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |
