Now that is an excellent analogy and one I agree with, hence my 'off piste' comment earlier. Agree to disagree until the post mortem! Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Woke up to this morning's news suggesting that JC had actually dobbed himself in. I had to smile at the irony of the petition to keep him, if he actually wants to walk now.

I do not know why we cannot just accept that the wording behind the petition is totally irrelevant. Whoever started the petition simply raised the little bit of ragged confederate flag still burning inside many of us and we rallied behind it and signed the petition. The actual wording was just the 'staring gun' Everyone who feels JC is a tiny bit rebellious and totally fed up with everyone who feels they have to be offended by everything and in particular the liberals who run the BBC, signed it. Signing it does not mean you agree with violence or punching a work mate, the position has morphed into something much bigger and no picking over the wording of the original petition can bring it back

Exactly and very eloquently put.

Though a little off thread I only hope people are as motivated on May 7th at the ballot box as they have been in signing this petition For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Very different to the transcript from SKY news who interviewed someone who actually witnessed the event.

A family who witnessed the row said Clarkson was staying at the Simonstone Hall Hotel near Hawes in North Yorkshire and went into the bar at around 9.30pm after a day of filming last Wednesday.

Bob Ward, 60, from Leeds, told Sky News the star refused to have a selfie taken with him, saying: "No, not with the day I have had."

His wife Sue claimed Clarkson then said it was "ridiculous there was nothing to eat" and she said he thought his colleague had not done his job properly.
"Obviously there were lots of expletives in between all this," she added.

She said Clarkson told his colleague "he would see to it that he would be losing his job".

The fracas was described as just "pushing and shoving"

Four members of the same family who overheard the row say Clarkson told a colleague he would have him fired because there was no hot food at the end of a day's filming.

The Ward family from Leeds told Sky News that Clarkson ranted for up to half-an-hour at the Simonstone Hotel near Hawes and say they were shocked at his language and the way he treated his colleague.

They also claimed he criticised the BBC, saying it was "getting worse".
Sue Ward, 54, a medical receptionist, described Clarkson's behaviour towards the unnamed employee as shocking.

"He said he hadn't done his job properly, it was ridiculous that there was nothing to eat, obviously there was lots of expletives in between all this, and that he would be losing his job, he would see to it that he would lose his job," she said.
"Even someone who's really inept at their job should be told properly, in a proper manner," she said

"But the fact that it was in a public place, I didn't want to listen to that language."

Within minutes, Bob's wife Denise, 51, said Clarkson was shouting and swearing and had spoiled the evening they had been looking forward to.
"We were sort of, 'Ooh, celebrities, will we see them?' and then it was just the shock of how can someone be so rude?" she said.

"It was just the swearing and the length of time and this poor guy that he was ripping into," she added For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Dont know where this was sourced from, but according to The Guardian there was a family of 4 who happened to be staying at the hotel and witnessed the whole episode. They said that they were disgusted by the verbal tirade that JC gave the producer, but that there was no punches thrown..

Just on a different tack, with all the furore of Clarkson’s suspension there is another side which has only been slightly touched on in these posts, the fact that BBC are being very rigid in their attitude of pulling the programme, they are all most saying that ‘Top Gear is Clarkson’ and without him the show cannot possibly go on.

In my opinion I have to say who the hell does the BBC thinks it is, it is a public Broadcaster financed in biggest part by the public and at a whim they have decided to pull a programme enjoyed by millions which is a little bit like punishing us for something we have not done.

And as the other presenters and the entire production crew are now saying it has left them hanging as well. Today’s press are saying that the inquiry will take weeks to reach its conclusion, the BBC seems to be under the influence that Clarkson has committed some grand and terrible crime when in reality all he did was lose his temper and now with so many contradictory reports being given I have now no idea what really took place.

I am beginning to feel that if I was Clarkson I would tell the BBC to stick it where the sun don’t shine and move on to another broadcaster, where because he makes them millions may be better treated. And before anyone says ah! Yes, but he says these terrible things, yes he does, but then again the BBC has allowed these words to be broadcast, we all know how easy it would have been to edit them out. Plus Clarkson does not use expletives which are now to be found in so many programs I have lost count, including the ‘C’ word which is at the top of the BBC banned list of words but does the BBC suspend those programs, no. It is now my opinion that if Top Gear ends and Clarkson walks away it will be all down to the BBC who I now feel does not give a toss about the viewing public. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

It's interesting to read the international press coverage of Clarksongate!! Casts a slightly different light in some of the background relationships, namely between Clarkson and the BBC head of TV who apparently "hates hits guts"" and can't wait to get rid of him Shocked 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon
