If I really had to change the plate, I would have the latest clutch model installed (i.e. MY 2015 for the more powerful engine).
But as I said : no signs of failure (rattling, pedal behaviour, or other) but in summer I had the impression that the pedal didn't return "in time" 2 times after long runs on the motorway. I thought this was related to temperatures (35°C) on summer holidays. Since I have a truck licence I am used to engage the clutch more softly in order to avoid primature failures related to harsh impacts on the clutch .... ![]() |

"Since I have a truck license", which explains the 6.8t boat haul. Lucky person!

6.8 tons - 6200 kg - over all - BE licence can handle it (25 ft sailboat)
The 120 hp tdci engine is near its limits. Climbs slowly. |

Excellent news, glad to hear it! However at 150k on the original clutch I'd be planning for a clutch change before too much longer.

Right you are !
When I booked the truck in for the leaking Ashcroft spline, we said that the clutch shall be replaced in 2025 for its mileage. Now this issue became even more urgent, because the rubber on the slave might be the same material and be exposed to failure, too. Now, I only have to look for the right part numbers in order to get a MY2015 clutch ![]() By the way, your comments on this thread helped me to figure out where the problem was : ![]() https://www.defender2.net/forum/post971667.html |
