Bottom damper mounts
Fuel tank heat shield Fuel filter cover And a recent one that I had was diff cover slightly bent, so just rung, when the bump was correct, but only applies if you have diff protection, which I doubt you do with lowering springs. |

Does it do it if you lightly apply the brakes? It is very common for the rear pads to rattle in the callipers.

If it is the rear pads then this topic may help. https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic78504.html

Check the A frame bushes and ball joint for movement whilst giving it a pull around. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

You haven’t left a spanner loose in the back somewhere…..?

All the above plus check the exhaust isn’t bouncing off the chassis. It’s a slightly deeper sounding metallic clang. WARNING.

Thanks for suggestions Guys,
I have now checked all - Damper Mounts, bushes and ball joints,Tank Fuel shield, Exhaust, loose spanner etc and thought the Fuel Filter cover could be the culprit. However it still makes the noise with it removed. Also removed rear wheel carrier and checked door hinges. Have removed r/h rear seat although sound does not seem to be coming from interior. It is not brake related. It sounds to be coming more from drivers side rear. Any other suggestions apart from turning up radio |

Presumably you’ve checked to see if the prop shaft uj’s aren’t loose? When they’re worn out and dry out they can rattle.

Any chance it's coming from within the cabin? I only ask due to my rear forward facing seats can make such a noise if not fully locked in place when the seats are in the upright position.
Good luck with the search. |
