I recently replaced the actuator on my 2013 2.2 to solve a problem with sticking vanes. Yon can read all about it here, in case it helps:

One other question, could you possibly confirm the part number on the compressor housing? My original had the number JKM2, the replacement JKM1. I wondering if the location of the mounting for the actuator is different to clear the aircon compressor? |

No, I'm afraid not. I didn't remove the shield to expose it, I'm afraid.
Scratch that - I've just realised that the number you're talking about is just visible in my picture of the bare actuator. I did.
Turns out the exhaust housing is specific to the late Puma; dealer / supplier struggled. I had the existing turbo rebuilt. |

Related to turbo actuator part numbers, I am fairly sure I need to replace the actuator on my 2010 2.4tdci.
Symptoms: limp mode when I drive over 60mph for about 5mins or more, reset by cycling the ignition. No engine lights nor error codes. I can move the turbo vanes with the actuator disconnected and it moves freely (hot and cold). Checked the wiring and all seems to be okay. When I start and rev the engine, the actuator does not move the vanes at all. The part numbers on the actuator currently fitted are 752406, 009206, and G-48. But I'm seeing a lot of G-34 actuators online and I'm not sure what the difference is. The Defender is on 160k miles so the turbo may not be original. Any thoughts on what the G number refers to, and which is required? I am wondering whether the current actuator is right which could be the root cause. |

Make sure the pivots on the EA actuator bar are kept periodically lubed with light oil from a dripper.
Don’t grease them unless it’s the LR dedicated ceramic grease which costs a fortune! 3 in 1 light oil sorted mine out, it’s been good ever since but they do get sticky, that I turn affects the actuation of the EA and operation of the tube vanes, will also induce a small amount of lag too. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I hope I am lucky this time and I get a word of advice.
Should the turbo vanes moves aboslutely freely? After I removed the "circlip" from the actuator lever I found out the internals were stuck and I could not move the lever whatsoever. After I few taps into he lever it was free. However, I still feel a bit of friction by moving up and down the lever. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. I found that the best way to describe it is to say it should feel as though the linkage has broken and isn't actually doing anything in the turbo. It is surprising how freely it moves if it is working correctly. |
