United Kingdom 2008 Defender 130 Puma 2.4 HCPU Barolo Black
Alarm Immobiliser
Good morning,

So I have a 2015 2.2 TDCI Puma Defender 130.

The issue has been with the alarm and immobiliser. I believe the battery was drained and not replaced correctly.

At first the alarm would go off randomly even when driving. Sometimes the main alarm and sometimes the passive alarm. Recently though the car has immobilised itself and the only way to start is to do the negative terminal trick. I won't share on here but those who know know.

I have hooked the truck up to Nanocom Evolution and it won't communicate with the Immobiliser.

I have checked all of the door and bonnet switches and all are working fine. All doors lock and unlock with the key fob. I have checked the roof lining sensor and disconnected it and no improvement. I have tried syncing the key fob doing the unlock and lock method and nothing. Also tried just using that method with the key and not the fob and nothing.

The key fob will lock and unlock the doors but the car is immobilised.

If it is the immobiliser can i buy a new one and reprogram with the Nanocom? Or any other suggestions as how to sort?

Nanocom won't seem to read the EKA code either. It's fully unlocked it just won't read it.

Thanks

Hi

I had a problem with a 10AS module fitted to a TD5 a few years ago.

I removed it and sent it to the chap below for reprograming / repair. I think that it cost £75 including refurbishment of the blipper fobs.

Drop him a line explaining the symptoms.

Jim

Thanks Jim. I will ask the question. I have the later immobiliser I think which is a black box rather than the 10AS.

You will have the later ALM module. It’s likely that you have the DHxxxxxxxxx serial number version, however you may have the earlier ALM CHxxxxxx Version. If you have the CH version it can suffer from a brownout issue if the starter battery is allowed to slowly drain to low volts, this causes some of the ALM software to be corrupted.

Best have a chat with remotekey https://www.remotekey.co.uk/shop/land-rove...trol-ecus/

You can see what unit you have by removing the drivers footwell speaker and looking up.
