After a long time away from the fold enjoying a different types of 4x4 I appear to be back in defender ownership!
To give a little back story I now use a Ducati monster as my main transport, but for winter while the boats out have had a very nice transporter pop top. It was great and we loved it and exploring but had the urge to go a little further off the beaten track… or at least more than a Sportline body kit and 20” alloys would allow 😂 In my ideal world it would have been another g wagon to convert, but not having robbed any banks lately and with a cottage that drinks any spare cash a more reasonable alternative was needed. That’s where I found this after looking at a few 130’s which were too big and looked like full campers all the time. Looking back on the forum after remembering my login it appears to have been on here before It’s currently a 5 seater dormobile conversion by them which I plan to make a few interior changes to. Externally it’s pretty good, so a few alterations will be made. Basically though unlike my other defenders this will primarily be made and adapted to make camping easy for how we use it. With the benefit of being a bit interesting and getting us to new walking and exploring areas. Maybe towing a boat or too along the way. (Ps nice to see some familiar faces still here! And back in a proper waving vehicle) Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Defender puma dormobile camper |

Thanks everyone oh I like the hard top a lot! Any interior pics.
Did a few bits today and went all over cleaning. I’ll put some pics up tomorrow, but consisted of an aircon front panel, led headlights nd ordered the mud box for the heater to go under the cubby box. Defender puma dormobile camper |

Thank you
Well spoke to dormobile today as want to get some material to change the internal layout. As well as a good clean up it’s had the aircon front fitted, led lights and luckily removed the snorkel which had a split in anyway. As a bit of luck it was the type that didn’t need to drill the wing. So with one bracket removed from the pillar. A bit of filler and paint made up its back looking as Land Rover intended. 👌 Click image to enlarge Defender puma dormobile camper |

Few bits done; heater fixed, arches changed, individual set removed to start the bedding cupboard, seat covers fitted, ready for twin batteries, eberspacher and windows next.

The defender had its first outing as a bit of a test. Pretty happy with it. Surprising how much just changing a few bits has cost and visually… Well externally it looks pretty similar.
Some big jobs have included; eberspacher heater fitted, better insulation, full curtains, bedding locker, tables, storage, twin battery install plus other bits like window tinting and wheels. Really nicely done.
I must admit, I envy the pop toppers with their nice standard height seating Ours is so low and I still have to slouch in the back of ours! Well in my usual defender style I’m back to changing wheels like normal.
I’ve gone for a set of 18” boost style to keep it factory looking. Probably should have gone silver though. In two minds whether to get them redone grey with the diamond cut lip the same as the tomb raiders used to have, or to save up again and change to the lucari 18” steels in white.
