It’s on 160,000, but you wouldn’t think to look at it. I’m not too worried about higher mileage in general as my old 90 had definitely been around the clock and my disco 2 had about 180,000 on it when I sold it. My other car is a Tdi Skoda Octavia on 205,000, still going strong! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Not bad going
Mines on 135k but I rebuilt the engine at 124k after it seized due to oil pump failure. Every other major component is untouched. My 110 is in here https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic61028.html |

be fine, I sold my puma XS 110 USW at 240,000 miles and I absolutely regret it!
had a couple since but they were too nice and shiny and too expensive so Im on the look out for a high mile dented USW XS but doesn't seem to crop up much lol 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS 2008 Corris Grey 110 XS USW (sold) 2011 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold) |

Some new bonnet hinges arrived today from Design and Development Engineering. Really good quality and they can do any Land Rover colour. Just waiting for some paint then I can hopefully
sort this mess out along with the badly fitting bonnet! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Just got the 110 back from T&S Norman near Shepton Mallet; they sorted the banging a frame joint and a few other bushes. Really happy with the service from them, comprehensive quotes before the work and happy to talk through what needs doing. Will deffo be using them again. They’ve given me a list of bits that need looking at in the short and long term.
In the meantime, fitted a replacement gear stick as the old one had split at the top and disintegrated upon trying to glue it! A couple of the door hinges had a fair bit of wear, with the worst being the drivers side rear door, which needed a bit of a lift when closing. I wanted to keep the original look and none of the aftermarket security options really fitted the bill so I bought some standard ones for now and sprayed them. It’s only a rattle can job so we will see how they get on. Upon taking the lower hinge off, the pin split, definitely needed replacing!

There was a fair bit of play in the track rod ends on the steering so I thought I’d replace them with greasable ones from Glyn Lewis and upgrade the bars an OME steering damper while I was at it. The result is much more direct steering and hopefully easier servicing in the future. The drop arm tool from Nielsen worked a treat and was half the price of the Britpart item.
Next on the list is some Wolf wheels and new tyres… any interest in some crusty SVX dual finish alloys?
