tolley - how often are you going to NEED mud terrains?
most farmers and game keepers who do a good 25% of their driving off road still use all terrains. in my 21 years of driving land rovers i have found 235 85 16 bfg all terrains to be the current best (although my all time favourite was the bfg trac edge) |

hi andy,
when did bfg stop doing the trac edge? i think insa do a remold of it, which i will probably go for on my low annual mileage tdi when the tyres need replacing. can you still get hold of bfg commercial (235 85 16) they were similar to all terrains but a bit cheaper? |

My mind won't go back that far, about 12 years I think.
Insa do a copy as you say, and the Comm is no longer available. Andy. www.ajstyres.co.uk 01737 241370 Junction 8 M25 Surrey. |

I last bought Trac Edges in 2003 for a trailer to match those on my Discovery at the time. I don't know how true it was but I was told by the dealer that they were the last in the country in that particular size. They were an excellent tyre - I had them on my previous Stage 1 too - although they had a very distinctive hum at around 40mph. Times are changing, is that good not in all cases IMHO.
What we need is a good old standard 200tdi engined 90/110 with maybe a Puma heater etc. Andy. www.ajstyres.co.uk 01737 241370 Junction 8 M25 Surrey. |

On my 2007 DC they are galvanised. I think that (certainly in '07) if you bought one with a tilt the cappings were galv; if you bought a hardtop, they weren't. |
