I was able to disable the auto stop/start in my 2016 L405 HSE by disconnecting a plug. However, I don't see that same plug in my 2020 L663. I really don't like the auto stop/start feature so I would like to disable it if it's possible. I hope it's as simple as the L405 was...
https://www.rangerovers.net/threads/how-to...st-2325139 I sure hope someone out there has some info on how to disable it in the L663 P400HSE. Ray 2020.5 Defender 110 P400HSE 2016.5 Range Rover HSE Last edited by W84IT on 21st Dec 2020 11:31pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Can’t you just press the off button on the dashboard.
Must be easier and less hassle than having the dealership refuse a warrantee job in the future (and insurance). Let’s face it, with JLR’s reputation having a warrantee is like Xmas, it’s a good thing and will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside...... Can you imagine wanting a winch fitted, the dealer cuts the loom.........and guess what, you end up with a very expensive chicken coop for the garden... |

I'll be honest I don't see why the feature is such an issue?

I don't like it because over 40 years of driving series Land-Rovers and Defenders (and other British cars with electrical systems supplied by Lucas, Prince of Darkness) has conditioned me to panic when the engine stops in traffic, and also to expect it to fail to start again! Stop/start induces a feeling of panic, it's an age thing I suspect.

I dont like it either, especially as it has too much of a delay compared to the BMW one, have now got into the habit of switching it off as soon as I start up!

i find the function to be a complete pain in the harris.. probably provides minimal fuel gain, if any,
i would rather be without it. Just another feature i turn off every time i get in the vehicle yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

I dont notice it on mine, the straight 6 petrol is so quiet and smooth you can't tell if the engine is running or not on tick over. The stop start it instant. 130's have feeling's as well you know

Andrew, I also have the P400 and I definitely notice it on mine. It's most annoying when I stop and put it in park to open the door just to get out for a brief moment the engine shuts off...then once I get back in I have to press the start button to start the car again.
I respect that there are a lot of different opinions on this but I personally just feel that it's more of an annoyance than a benefit. And maybe I'm just old school but I don't think this will be good for the starter in the long run. Therefore, if I can find a way to disable it like I did in my L405 then that's exactly what I'll be doing. Ray 2020.5 Defender 110 P400HSE 2016.5 Range Rover HSE |

Ah I see where you are coming from now, actually getting out the car with the engine running I wrongly presumed you were referring to just driving the car. Could it be a safety feature and nothing to do with the stop start? 130's have feeling's as well you know

Doesn’t the 6cyl petrol have an MHEV system rather than stop/start??
Probably much trickier to disable? Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |
