If it's an aircon grille then the easiest way is to remove the grille surround as the grille comes with it, they are only held on with two self tappers each side and about four smaller ones along the top. Steve.

I didn't notice the self-tappers, I was led astray by the Mantec instructions that showed the grille being removed by 6x screws.
I'll have a look when I get home and have a go. It'd be nice to get the steering guard put on eventually. |

As above take the whole assembly off. Just did mine, 4xself tappers on the top and one each side. Flip the thing over and you can push out the plastic firtrees. 5 mins tops.

It's an easy job to get off. The small self tapers have oversize washers and screw into plastic inserts, the two larger screws eack side of the surround screw into speed fasteners clipped onto bent brackets - a bit of copperslip on the screw threads will help to stop them corroding onto the fasteners. While you've got the grille off slap some Waxoyl or similar onto he brackets that hold the a/c fan as they tend to rust like mad too. Steve. Thanks guys - that worked. Grille came right off.
Good call on the copper grease, the screws on the side were melding into the support. |

sorry to BUMP this back up after so many years... but I'm finding it hard to remove the grill from the surround. Have tried pushing the black clips but they almost warp and don't feel like they're going to move.
In the 12 years that have since past, can anybody help advise? |

Is there enough room to just cut the clips off from behind? New ones are cheap enough 😎
