Spent the past few days fitting the Ashcroft transmissions MT82 output shaft upgrade.
Battery has been disconnected the whole time whilst transfer box removed / replaced. Come to reconnect battery. I have no ignition lights. Landy turns over when key turned but will not start with no ignition lights. Handbrake light on, heater fan works, light and indicators work but no ignition. Checked every fuse.. even the under seat. Nothing found. Disconnected the earths. Sanded and refitted. Nothing found. Rechecked all transfer box wiring. Nothing found. At a loss now to what the issue could be. Any auto electricians any advice please?? |

Standard alarm fitted.
I believe an electrical fault if holding of the ignition otherwise is would fire. Due to no ignition I doubt I have fuel pumping and glow plugs warming. |

Possible ignition switch failure? Could just be a coincidence that it's failed at this time. Otherwise check power to under seat fuse box 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Isn't there an earthing point on the gear box might you have damaged it or left it off? Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Recheck earth points all good.
Plipped alarm x 4times a few times. Starter relay works. (clicks in and out to heater plugs) Swapped main relays about with those under steering wheel. All fuses checked again. Still nothing!!!! |

There is a large multiplug at the top rear passenger side of the engine, is that connected correctly? part of the loom coming off the engine. Cheers

I'm not really familiar with the tdci defender but I have seen this fault on the td5. Has it got a main fusebox with the bolt in fuses? if so take the cover off and check the connection for the main feed from the battery, I've seen the screw come loose and loose connection.

Bulkhead side of the injector pump, single wire.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7C3UNVL0lTw edit: noticed wrong engine type after posting. 300tdi, loosen an injector pipe and see if fuel leaks, if no multimeter handy. |
