Thanks very helpful as always, i was going to buy an aftermarket kit i think i saw a link on here the other day, i was just wondering the route from the switches to the actual seat bases really? sounds stupid but want to make sure i run them correctly.

I ran my universal kit seat heaters wiring down the dash centre hole, behind the fuse box, and under the rubber matting alongside the gearbox tunnel. Then under the seat rail to the seat connector. I have a waterproof disconnect if I ever have to pull the floors up. Hope this helps some.

I ran mine from the centre switches up the window pillar, along the roof above the door then down by the seatbelt to under the cubby box - this is where the relay was to turn the power on so the large wires only ran from battery to the relay then to the seats
I used an Exmoor Trim kit that came with two heat levels, so the defender switches power the two level switches (located on the cubby box) I don’t actually use the heated base section, just the heated back pad - I find the base too hot |
