Hi Matt

Do you have a suggestion on how to remove the sump? I have removed the nuts but it is tricky to access and seems stuck solid.

All going well though.

Here is an image of where I am at.

Purpose-made tools are available for this, such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-SEAQF-VS66...B00S6CA93M

Dear All

I just wanted to update you all and say a big thank you for all your advice.
I have successfully re-built the engine and after turning over 3 times it started. It sounds like new! which I suppose it should do as most of the things above the cylinder head are new.

Removing the sump was a horrible job and so was getting the alternator back on - but I have learned so much about the Puma engine it makes it all worth it.

So from me to you all - Thank You.

Best wishes

Richard

I'm really pleased to hear that it went well and congratulate you an successfully carrying out a repair which many would hesitate even to attempt.

I am also glad that the forum was able to help. It is a very good forum IMO. Thumbs Up
