Random inner skin door weld
Hi All,

I changed my door housing lock and button as the housing had broken and the cover kept falling off. It's all back together and an easy job but wondered why the inner skin would have been repaired, I can't think it was done in the factory. The passenger side is fine. My original guess was that someone got carried away trying to get in to the vehicle without keys but the damage would be on the outside? Any ideas?

Neat job - but very common issue. “They all do that Sir!”.

I did a repair on mine following the example of Clayton (on here) though it wasn’t a weld job.

I have bought a whole top panel like that and one day I intend to cut and weld it onto what’s there to have a stronger door.

Driver’s door because it’s the one that’s always used.

I think it’s just the vibration from the weight of the window mechanism etc moving back and forward when the door is slammed shut - and we know we often have to slam the doors to get the damn things to close! Donald
