Neat job - but very common issue. “They all do that Sir!”.
I did a repair on mine following the example of Clayton (on here) though it wasn’t a weld job. I have bought a whole top panel like that and one day I intend to cut and weld it onto what’s there to have a stronger door. Driver’s door because it’s the one that’s always used. I think it’s just the vibration from the weight of the window mechanism etc moving back and forward when the door is slammed shut - and we know we often have to slam the doors to get the damn things to close!
