Decided as any 'toe rag' can undo the door hinges relatively easy to potentially 'hold them up' a while. If they've got the time and patience to 'pick away a while' crack on!
In Dry Dock at the moment so got a ball-bearing race from a fire sprinkler pump from one of these... Click image to enlarge Any ball-bearings will do though as long as they fit partially in the head recess, break the race and clean the ball bearings. Cleaned up my hinges... Click image to enlarge Smidge of marine grade 29i Sikaflex and adhered the balls into the heads. Will wait until the Sikaflex 'goes off' then fill the remaining area. Can't be drilled and would take considerable time to get any tool in there to undo a single bolt, let alone two of them. Click image to enlarge Thought it may be a tip worth posting. Having sat in my cubby box for over two and a half months I finally manage to prioritise the fitting of my stainless bonnet hinges. As with the door hinges the vehicle is obviously sprayed with the hinges fitted, make sure if you do source replacements that the footprint of the replacement ones are the same if not bigger than the originals. Also had some pond-liner left so made up some gaskets for the new ones...

Mal, nothing wrong thread, sometimes (often) these older threads keep their relevance. In this respect, next week the Entreq security hinges which I bought new from Matt now over a year ago I think (when he decided to resell new and unused), and which have been lying around for all that time, finally will be installed. Olaf will do it himself while the truck is there for a number of other upgrades. As is quite common my standard hinges have some play as Olaf showed, but not to the point where I can hear the bonnet rattling when driving. Anyway the Entreq security hinges should solve that. As far as we could test last week in Uhldingen-Mühlhofen it looks like the Entreq hinges footprint will be sufficient to cover the required area in order to not show anything unpainted. Hi Eric, Excellent! I was quite surprised when I removed my door ones to reveal primer. The bonnet was ok but I still checked to make sure the replacements were at least the same size as OEM so there were no 'surprises' when swapping them out. I also made my own butyl gaskets to ensure no metal against metal issues. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
