Count me out till we see how well it works. Didn't they say the G3 was meant to be compatible with the new Defender? In fact last time I looked their website still said the current version they were selling could modify the defender CCF. Little bit deceptive methinks.

I upgraded recently, so will be waiting to see what their offer is!!

I do agree though that GAP did say that the gen3 was supposed to be compatible with the Defender!!

What's deceptive? There's a lot it can't do, but it was never sold as being able to do anything you could imagine.

The G3 is compatible with the L663. I've tweaked mine in many excellent ways with it. When I bought mine, it didn't work at all with my L663, but within a couple weeks, Patrick had a fix and it is working perfectly.
I've set my defender to remember stop/start, disabled belt minders, enabled Dynamic and the trailer tow assist, approach unlock and walk-away lock, changed the DRL behavior to suit myself, enabled the wifi hotspot, and a more recent change disabled brake hold. (The automatic brake hold you get when brake hold is switched off is beyond annoying).

Now GAP is adding a new hardware feature to talk DoIP and with it the ability to reset DADC, and you think this is other than a good thing?

If you had bought a new device and were told "it supports de D5 and Def", you don't expect to be told, just a matter of months later, that if you want full support that you will have to buy a "new version".

If I had known, I would have waited before upgrading!!

That is my point.

Wow! Someone will always end up on the cusp of a product cycle.

What you're saying if you object to the future updates is that you don't want any?

Well worth whatever it costs.

Same exact thought everyone has, every time a shinier version of any piece of technology we own is introduced and we no longer feel like the smartest kid in the room. It would be nice if they stopped improving things a split second after I buy them, wouldn't it? 2020 NAS Defender 110 HSE 5-seater / Silver / Khaki / Black Pack / Black Roof / Satin Film / Cold Pack / Off-Road Pack / Advanced OR Pack / Comfort + Convenience Pack / Sirius + HD radio / HUD / Meridian Surround

Not the same at all really. G3 was marketed as being fully Defender compatible, but was actually missing a major protocol required and already present in some competitors like Jetpro.
That’s not the same as offering new and improved features, it’s paying again for what you thought you had already bought.

Well, it says they're going to offer a special upgrade deal for those who bought the previous version recently.

Maybe worth waiting to see what the deal is before complaining.
