Middle is half shaft, then the stub axle, then the stake nut that holds the bearing in place.

This may explain better.
Click image to enlarge Your assembly looks like it may have rust in and need striping down. But I can’t see any damage just the staking, of the stake nut. (This is where you smack part of the nut flat against the flat bit below to lock it into position, to stop it undoing on its own.) Last edited by landy andy on 9th Jan 2022 10:30pm. perhaps theres something I can't see but if you're referring to the 'dent' I believe thats intentional - a form of lock nut to prevent it coming loose.
sorry if I'm telling you what you already know. good luck with getting it sorted. oops sorry. just noticed the responses above. I hadn't done a refresh since last night. |
