Rear half shaft updates - what's this guy hiding in the hub
Hello!

Just in the process of updating my rear drive shafts after it annoyingly popped out my hub centre cap on the motorway 🙄 and noticed some damage to the hub nuts when taking it apart

Does anyone know the part number of the brass part inside that? I can seem to work out what it is, but as it's damaged may be worth replacing at the same time (no idea how these got knocked!)

Any help much appreciated!

Middle is half shaft, then the stub axle, then the stake nut that holds the bearing in place.

This may explain better.

Your assembly looks like it may have rust in and need striping down.

But I can’t see any damage just the staking, of the stake nut. (This is where you smack part of the nut flat against the flat bit below to lock it into position, to stop it undoing on its own.)

perhaps theres something I can't see but if you're referring to the 'dent' I believe thats intentional - a form of lock nut to prevent it coming loose.

sorry if I'm telling you what you already know.

good luck with getting it sorted. Thumbs Up

oops sorry. just noticed the responses above. I hadn't done a refresh since last night.
