Defender 90 TD5 fuel pump
Hi all

I have noticed that there are 2 Bearmach fuel pumps available for the Defender TD5 with one for the 90 and one for the 110.

What’s the difference? The 110 ones seem a little cheaper but look exactly the same?

Jim

Different fuel float arm/level to account for the different tank shapes i believe.

As said above the tanks are different sized and shapes, I believe that you can swap the floats over though.

If you’re doing the job, make sure you get a genuine pump and not a cheap aftermarket one, it will save you doing the job multiple times.

Also worth getting a new locking ring as well as they are normally rusty and a pain to get off in one piece.

I was going to go for a Bearmach pump. Are these not good?

Lots of people suggest only using genuine pump.
Not sure exactly why but likely to be with quality and durability.
Had mine replaced 4 months ago with genuine Thumbs Up

From experience the aftermarket ones are very noisy and don’t last very long, but a genuine Vdo siemens unit is probably 3 or 4 times the price of a Bearmach or britpart one

Discovery ones used to be even cheaper than defender.... and you can just unclip the arm and swap over.
