It's a minefield.

On closer inspection that van is branded as DVA which in NI. On the "mainland" we appear to have DVSA.

You'd expect them both to have similar powers ~ maybe they do but then apply them differently.

Priorities must have changed, I have in the past been pulled over in my Defender and had my tank dipped; and when I worked in the centre of Manchester, it was routine for them to set up an inspection point by the office and pull cars in.

I think it is HMRC that check for illegal use of red diesel, not DVSA

Yes definitely HMRC are responsible for illegal use of red diesel and prosecute offenders but not sure if DVSA can dip tanks and then report offenders to HMRC for prosecution. Defender 90XS SW
