Hey Naf.
I think that the brake servo (certainly the non-ABS version) has the same part number from 200tdi all the way through to the end of the TDCi. Unless you are talking about fitting the ABS (SJG100240) servo in place of the non-ABS (LR013488) servo!?! In which case I cannot help, but am interested if a worthwhile mod. |

I have the abs version on my ride with the stock td5 master cyl.
We will test to see if there is an internal leak in the servo, and if need be we will swap the master to the newer version as it has a larger internal bore to push more fluid. Can't leave well enough alone |

There can be hairline cracks in the servo. Instagram @defender_ventures

Its new, but its still a defender part.
I will try and do a vacuum test to see if thats the problem. Have a lot on our plate, and holidays are fast approaching Can't leave well enough alone |

I think we found the problem. The non abs master has a smaller oring than the abs type.
Investigating at the moment. Can't leave well enough alone |

Yes, the ABS master has a larger opening than the non-abs. Serious DUH moment.
So next hurdle is the non-abs has m10 female fittings while the ABS type uses M12 fittings. Problem partially solved, Dorman 788-522 is a m12 male bubble to m10 female inverted, you just drill out the inverted part in the female side and you may retain your original piping. You will also need to remove the five sided Allen key plug on the bottom of the new ABS master. I hope to have this all altered and working by 7-10 workin days. I have the master comin from the UK and the adapters comin from Amazon USA. Will keep you all posted. Can't leave well enough alone |

Latest update,
Ordered a new aftermarket master, the bottom plug is just a stopper for the front plunger. No oil pressure comes from there. We will be addin a Tee fittin to the front plug and see if it all works out nicely. Another day of delays... Can't leave well enough alone |

not sure i follow the last post.
but once you have vacuum if actuation of brakes compared to pedal press is poor (ie lots of slack) then adjust out the screw to reposition the master piston where it mates to the servo. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

JST,
You are correct, but my platform is No-abs, that I am tryin to install an ABS combo onto for better brakes. My current non abs combo never came close to lockin the wheels in the sand. It was never a situation where I wasnt going to slow down fast enough. Just wanted more from my brakes as i am running the larger kit from Rakeway. The Non abs has three ports, the two on the front are for the front two hubs, while the third that is closest to the servo is for the rear two hubs. The abs master has only two ports, from what I can gather online its Pressure and Supply. As these two go into the ABS module and it is adjusted and sent to the needed hubs. There is no Front and rear like on newer vehicle models. I have a Tee fittin from and extra rear axle buy. So I would be able to make one of the ports handle the two front hubs. I will try and see which of the new ports gives more fluid, and at what pressures. As we want more pressure for the front vs the rear. Can't leave well enough alone |

i have added ABS servos to non ABS vehicles and used the existing MCs. one option is different servo to allow this if as you say the MC outputs are not conventional front and rear. Cheers

Hi JST. Curious to know what the difference in braking the ABS servo made when replacing a non-abs servo. Interesting that the non-abs MC fits the abs servo, I have wondered... |

I fitted them to auto conversions we did where the std servo provided insufficient assistance for cadence braking under certain conditions. I
didn't fit them to improve braking force just to give better servo capacity Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

I ordered a collared seal to fill the gaps and it worked on the test bench properly.
Waiting on a new master before we bleed and give it street trials. My older master has started to rust, and I don't feel like allowing this cancer to stay there. Its another week, but it is better in the long run. Will keep you all posted. Can't leave well enough alone |
