Daniel mate, my read diff does the same. I have here a letter from a land rover engineer (not my choise of words) stating it is normal for the rear diff to whine as the new defender is quieter so it shows it up more (yeah I know but I have it in writting) and it is working within tolarances. Good luck and if they do change it can you email me so I can go round to said engineer and insert it (email or old diff) where the sun don't shine ![]() Last edited by The Boy on 7th Jan 2009 8:41pm. The rear diff has been a known problem and there was a replacement offered (dont ask how i know that...but it wasnt me) An LR Engineer said a similar thing to me...but he isnt correct. Mike |

Sorry mate I don't understand ![]() "and there was a replacement offered" Do you mean offered to customers who owned whining rear diffs? How do I find out about this? |

This is the first page for the report. As you can see the whining diffs are quite normal.
