It's certainly a cheap option and I can see the appeal but it's only masking the problem. I'd prefer to fix it properly, to be honest. Darren

The hinges bridge a big aluminium windscreen frame to large steel bulkhead and are made of ali . its a cathode/ anode corrosion problem made worse because LR don't paint the hinges before fitting to the truck so the underside isnt painted and moisture can get in under the paint at the join and moisture is required for anode corrosion...I personally would buy LR replacements and paint them all over and fit a rubber seal and refit .....keep the moisture out and you wont get to see the hinges corrode before your eyes. |
